PhotoQt is a fast and simple, good looking, yet powerful and highly configurable image viewer.
It provides an uncluttered interface and can be extensively tweaked to fit ones needs perfectly. It is possible to set key or mouse shortcuts for many of its features and capabilities, as well as for any external script/command.
It supports loading 100+ image formats, video files, and documents. Additionally, it fully supports Google Motion Photos, Apple Live Photos, and photo spheres (including 360 degree panoramas).
The many features provided include: thumbnails, slideshow, color profiles, chromecast, zooming, rotating, flipping, displaying metadata (selection of Exif and IPTC), set-as-wallpaper, simple file management, scaling, face tags (XMP metadata), touchscreen support, and a lot more. Using extensions it is possible to extend the capabilities of PhotoQt in many different ways.

5.4.131 Jul 2026
About a month after the last release, this is a smaller bug fix release. With less available time to work on PhotoQt over the summer, this delivers the bug that have been fixed.

Another few weeks have passed and a wide range of changes and improvement have found their way into PhotoQt. This release focuses almost entirely on improving the performance and reliability of existing code, with most of the code revisited, some of it restructured for easier maintenance, and all of it touched up for improvements all around.

Almost three months have passed, time for another update of PhotoQt with many improvements, bug fixes, and a few additions. One major focus of this release (and also the next one) is improving the overall performance of the various parts of PhotoQt, starting with the image plugins.

It's time for another release, version 5.2! All the changes that have been added to PhotoQt this past month focussed on improving existing features and fixing a few bugs, with a few nice additions nonetheless along for the ride.
