26.108 Oct 2026

New features:

  • Device CLI — run command-line commands on the connected companion from Device Actions
  • Remote CLI — send CLI commands to contacts and grant CLI access to others (requires MeshCore 1.18)
  • Initial setup dialog for newly flashed companions
  • Reworked region settings with a dedicated add dialog and a redesigned region discovery dialog
  • Sharing channels with a region scope, on both the sending and receiving side
  • Network section in repeater management — path hash size and default region, plus host password settings
  • CLI command autocomplete when managing repeaters, room servers, and sensors
  • Redesigned contact details dialog with share and favorite buttons on top
  • Last Seen filter on the map
  • Persistent contact and channel filters
  • Support for inverted (white on black) QR codes
  • Region scope shown in channel chats when incoming messages carry it
  • Total distance travelled by messages received in a channel
• Dedicated plus button for sharing options; emoji picker moved to the message composer
  • Signal strength in the list of heard repeats
  • New radio presets — Netherlands (Limburg), USA - Southern California, and USA/Canada split into two
  • Ctrl+Shift+F toggles starting Meshy in fullscreen mode

Improvements:

  • The device's default flood scope is read on connect instead of being overwritten, and the default scope is included in the Apply batch
  • Renaming a contact is stored as a custom name instead of rewriting the node name
  • Backup compatibility with the official client, with more settings included in backups
  • Contact auto-add configuration fixed — manual_add_contacts is set so the firmware accepts per-type settings
  • Labels and values reordered in Device Info and contact details to match GNOME HIG
  • Hop count in channel chats taken from the shortest path, matching the official app
  • Character counter warns when a message exceeds 139 characters and may not carry full metadata
  • Notifications are withdrawn once no longer relevant instead of accumulating
  • Sticky chats and channels
  • Telemetry query moved to a top bar icon; telemetry section renamed to Permissions
  • Anonymous region/owner requests are sent directly when the contact has no path, restoring the path and last advert time afterwards
  • Node name shown in the list of apps running in the background
  • Channel slot count now taken from the device instead of a hardcoded value
  • Internal refactoring — views and utils split into modules, shared path rendering and path-byte decoding, storage cleanup

Fixes:

  • Adding a contact failed when the device contact list was full but overwrite-oldest was enabled
  • Orphaned message dividers left behind after deleting messages below them
  • Untranslated values in the smart routing path list
  • Regression in path drawing that drew a direct line between the first and last nodes
  • OK/ERR queue desync when an anonymous request returned an error
  • Queued messages fetched before channels were loaded
  • Stale GLib source ID warning in the trace picker map
  • Numeric keyboard digits now work for shortcuts
26.099 Sept 2026

New features:

  • Import nodes from map.meshcore.io as discovered contacts, with optional periodic automatic updates — imported contacts are marked and can be removed at any time
  • Query regions and owner info from discovered nodes in Discover Nearby Nodes
  • Share your own contact and channels directly in chats
  • Mentions of users rendered as highlighted pills in messages and the composer
  • Multiline messages in chats
  • Camera switching and a reworked QR scanning dialog with MJPEG camera support
  • Automatic backup restoration when the companion is reflashed with a new public key
  • Number of missed channel messages reported in the notification sent after reconnect
  • Secretless hashtag channel URLs
  • Unscoped (flood) override when sending a message in a region-scoped channel
  • Major overhaul of sensor node support — issues fixed, node management added
  • Device Info redesigned into three tabs for a better overview

Improvements:

  • Automatic reconnect right after the system wakes from suspend
  • More reliable unread tracking — unread counts are no longer lost on reconnect
  • Reduced memory usage — loaded chat messages are released when switching away from a chat, channel message paths are loaded on demand
  • Confirmation dialogs when adding contacts and channels; toasts with Undo when removing them
  • More dialogs converted to GNOME HIG conventions
  • Regional presets updated, path hash size is now part of the preset
  • Smart routing history cleanup — near-zero-weight paths removed, purged paths not re-added
  • Path history removed together with the removed contact
  • Improved map scaling and richer discovered-node popups with an Add button
  • Bundled icons prefixed with meshy- so desktop themes cannot shadow them
  • Double-tap gesture to open the context menu on touchscreens

Fixes:

  • Unread counter cleared even though the user never saw the chat in collapsed mode
  • Corrupted contact names caused by feature bytes in advert payloads
  • Contact coordinates overwritten with zeros on refresh, making the contact disappear from the map
  • Chat views not loaded after leaving a chat — first contact/channel now auto-loaded
  • Channel message loss caused by a stuck message-sync batch
  • Contact chats with an unclickable text field
  • Message composer focus issues
  • Multi-byte UTF-8 characters truncated mid-character when sending
  • Two bugs in repeater and sensor telemetry requests
  • Anonymous region request replies with incorrectly encoded return paths
  • Echo filter breaking TerminalCLI commands
  • Channel list not refreshed after adding a new channel
  • Repeats miscounted when messages were purged from memory
  • Dead key input issues
26.083 Aug 2026

  • Clear all messages in a channel
  • Live graphs for noise floor, RSSI, and SNR in device statistics
  • Remove individual paths from smart routing history
  • Global default routing strategy (Classic/Smart) in Settings with per-contact override
  • Persistent contact sort mode and favorites-first preference
  • TCP companion address editing via right-click context menu
  • Wrong PIN error feedback with automatic retry
  • Clickable channel name in header bar opens channel details

Improvements:

  • Repeat mode compatibility — correct frequency, writable radio parameters, Device Info badge
  • Reworked message compose panel with split button for send options
  • Refined Device Info panel layout
  • Improved app-side trip time calculation for accurate smart routing scoring
  • Localized number and time formatting across the application
  • All UI definitions moved to XML
  • Performance optimizations — SQL query batching, O(1) contact sync, dict-based message lookups

Fixes:

  • BLE write serialization preventing InProgress errors during channel sync
  • Radio settings not reflecting actual device values after Apply
  • Custom preset overwritten by incoming device info updates
  • Ghost messages appearing from unconfigured channel slots
  • Crash on auto-connect when no BLE transport is available
  • Race condition when the connection drops immediately after connecting
  • Missed messages counter reset during contact/channel sync
